Skin tags are made of collagen and blood vessels surrounded by skin. They are usually found in the folds of the skin, armpits, groin, thighs, eyelids, neck or under the breasts. Causes of skin tags Skin tags occur when extra cells grow in the top layers of the skin. They are common, painless benign growths connected to the skin by a small, thin stalk called a peduncle.

Diathermy or thermocoagulation is a treatment that uses a very fine needle to prick the skin and then an ultrarapid radiofrequency current is passed through the area which is heated and sealed.
